Cape Horn Capital has a small number of clients, allowing clients to invest like a family office without the burden of establishing one.

Time Poor CEO

Mr Lyons is the CEO of a public company and is extremely time poor so has delegated the management of his investments to Cape Horn to invest in a globally diversified portfolio across various asset classes. Cape Horn is a regular host of roundtable lunches, dinners and zoom calls with its global network of fund managers, CEOs, founders and entrepreneurs. Mr Lyons has benefited from the chance to meet other talented entrepreneurs and hear directly from experts in their field.

Large Single Stock Holding

Mr Sabzpouri is the CEO and Founder of a listed public company with a significant shareholding. He is selling down his holding over 5 years and Cape Horn will manage his reserve of cash in much less volatile/risky investments. This will be done using Cape Horn’s expertise in fixed income by building a portfolio which will yield 7% through a combination of hybrid securities, private and corporate debt.

Private Company Founder

Ms Stratton is the founder of a tech firm with annual revenue of $10m. She was looking for corporate advice and expansion capital ($11m) and a secondary sell down ($5m). Cape Horn Capital’s Corporate Advisory team advised on the transaction and Cape Horn Capital raised the funds from pre-IPO Fund managers and UHNW clients. Ms Stratton deposited the sell-down cash with Cape Horn and started an investment relationship. Her firm will look to IPO in 24 months for a $200m+ valuation and Ms Stratton will use Cape Horn Capital’s philanthropic and asset allocation advisory services.

CIO, Family Office

Mr Cheng is the CIO of a family office based in Sydney with assets of $750m and an expertise in property investments. Consequently, the family office has a large holding in property, and they were looking to access other asset classes. Cape Horn Capital sourced successful emerging managers investing in various asset classes where the family office seeded the manager in return for a stake in the management company.
